the Tao Te Ching:
This is the one I own, it's a version based on other translations, not a direct translation itself. Other versions:

Chuang Tzu, the inner chapters:
I prefer David Hinton's translation, but you'll have to buy it to read it. For other, online versions, go here:

Ron Shone's Hypnosis Site
Pretty good resource on hypnosis. I mainly use it for info on self-hypnosis/trance work, found in the "Self Improvement" button; also check out "Resources" for scripts, imagery, and other help.

Writers/People

Kahlil Gibran (Lebanese philosopher, poet and writer, most well known for The Prophet.)

Edward Abbey
Probably my favorite author, he was and remains a major if radical voice in the environmental movement. Intelligent, funny, blunt, gruff, and eloquent, I love his style, and his books are always entertaining. I have yet to read one I don't like, though my favorite is probably A Fool's Progress. Others include Desert Solitaire and Beyond the Wall

Everett Ruess
Artist, poet, explorer and adventurer, this young man disappeared at age 20 in 1934, somewhere in southeast Utah. His letters reveal him as a youth of great depth and sensitivity. He is a sort of hero of mine. Check out the blockprint gallery and the poems, and I strongly recommend buying A Vagabond For Beauty, the collection of his letters by which he is mostly known.

The Thoreau Reader (A collection of some of Thoreau's books and essays)

Alan Watts (he's great to read, but better to hear)
        Alan Watts Lectures and Essays
        Alan Watts Podcast
        Alan Watts Media
